We provide legal services to help our English clients do business in France and our French clients do business in the UK. While our firm is based in London our lead lawyer on our French law desk, Anca Toma-Thomson, spends a great deal of time in France.

Anca is bilingual in French and English.

We also have excellent contacts with law firms in France so we can offer a seamless service between France and the UK for most business matters.

We specialise in business law covering corporate law, commercial contracts, technology law, employment law, commercial property law and dispute resolution. Within these areas we offer sub-specialisms such as data protection, media law, construction law and employee share incentive schemes. Our French Law Lawyers

Anca Toma-Thomson (bilingual) heads up the French desk with support from Neil Williamson (fluent French). All of our lawyers are available to provide support as needed.

Examples of their experience:

Anca Toma-Thomson

Anca is a corporate and commercial solicitor, formerly of Norton Rose and Davies Lavery, qualified as an English solicitor in 1999. In her career, Anca worked extensively on privatisation projects and acquisitions by well-known FTSE 100 companies in the Emerging Markets, including Eastern Europe where she gained ample experience of cross border transactions, international joint ventures and generally dealing with unpredictable market conditions. Anca is a bilingual speaker of English, French and Romanian with decent Italian and good understanding of other European languages which naturally led her to a career path that was likely to include European and international transaction experience, especially project managing international cross-border transactions and liaising with local counsel in assessing the risks and likelihood of planning and completing the projects.

Anca travels between London and France advising French companies upon their entry to the UK market as well as UK companies interested in developing business in France or the francophone countries where she closely works with the local counsel.

Specific examples of some of the recent French law and European projects and clients Anca has advised and been involved, include:

• Advising on the setting up and development of a state-of-the-art French medical clinic and bringing and implementing the Paris medical service SOS Medecins in London.
• Advising a franchise based sports French group on their entry into the UK market.

Neil is a Francophile having spent a great deal of his teenage years in Paris. Before starting at university in the UK he spent a year living in Paris as a stagier (trainee) at international law firm Clifford Chance.
