International Lawyers EM LawWe are experts in international law. We help clients with the legal and commercial aspects of overseas transactions and supply agreements, in particular to the public sector. As well as helping clients do business in the US and Europe, our team has supported clients operate in some of the most challenging parts of the world. And not just from our desks. We have unique on-the-ground experience in Sub-Saharan Africa, South-East and Central Asia and Eastern Europe along with connections to key advisers in these markets that we work with to support our clients.
 
We have extensive experience working alongside our clients to help win business, negotiate contracts and problem solve in jurisdictions where cultural sensitivity, emotional intelligence and resourcefulness are key. Many of our lawyers are native speakers in languages other than English.

Corporate

  • the DRC related aspects of the purchase of Congo China Telecom.
  • the proposed purchase of Ivanhoe Nickel and Platinum Ltd including its DRC subsidiaries.
  • the establishment of subsidiaries / branches in Mozambique, Kenya, Tanzania, Angola, Philippines, Vietnam, and Indonesia.

Commercial Contracts / Procurement

  • the design of UK public sector tenders for work in the energy sector in Africa.
  • the bidding for large public sector contracts following World Bank, EU, DFID, African Development Bank and Asian Development Bank guidelines.
